Innovate Wyoming: A 3-Week Journey in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Education
May 22 - June 7
First summer 22 May – 7th June 2023 course, this program is inspired by leadership Wyoming.
WyCEI and the UW Honors College invite you on a 3-week journey in Entrepreneurship and Innovation! Join us as we tour the state, meeting and learning from Wyoming’s top innovators, startups, business support groups and entrepreneurship educators. This program is for anyone with creativity and a drive to turn ideas into reality! Whether you’re studying business, an artist, a scientist, rancher or an activist, entrepreneurship can give you the tools to turn your passion into real-world impact.
Participants will undertake an immersive education in entrepreneurship and innovation through hands-on experiences and practical direction from successful entrepreneurs and business leaders in the state. Through exploring the local and statewide entrepreneurial ecosystem, students will gain opportunities for networking and community impact and join the next generation of innovative Wyoming entrepreneurs.
The program will run for three weeks from May 22nd to June 7th, 2023, based in the University of Wyoming campus with five onsite visits to startups, local businesses, and incubators throughout the state, the opportunity to develop business ideas, direct mentorship from course instructors.
You will:
- Hear directly from the owners of the innovative Railspur restaurant on their entrepreneurial journey.
- Meet legislators involved in building Wyoming’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Explore Casper’s McGinley Innovations and its cutting edge medical technology research.
- Take a deep dive into a new biotechnology company.
- And more!
By the end of the program, you will have gained comprehensive education in entrepreneurship and innovation, including theoretical and practical elements, formed connections with other aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators, as well as experienced entrepreneurs, investors, VCs, and industry leader, and have the capability to build your venture into the future.
Course costs are covered for participants. The course counts for three credit hours at the University of Wyoming. The course is listed at:
